Privacy policy

Version 1, 7 October 2026. This policy describes what the Valego app actually does today. When the app changes, this page changes with it, and the version number goes up.

1. Who is responsible

Valego is published by Jovana Jovic, self-employed (autónoma) in Spain, Carrer del Perú 186 bis, 08020 Barcelona. Questions about your data: hola@valego.app.

2. Who the app is for

Valego is for parents and guardians, who must be adults. It is not directed at children. Information about children is entered by their own parent or guardian, and only what is described below.

3. What we store, and why

DataWhyWho can see it
Your account: email address; if you sign in with Apple or Google, the name and email they share with us.To sign you in (a one-time code by email, or Apple / Google sign-in) and to recover your account.Only you and us.

We do not collect your phone contacts, your location history, or anything for advertising. There is no advertising in Valego and no analytics or tracking software from third parties inside the app.

4. What stays on your phone

5. Translation

Valego works in Spanish, English, Catalan and Russian. Text that other parents write (a review, the title of a plan, a message) may be translated into your language. For that, the text is sent to a translation service run by Anthropic (the makers of Claude) and the result is cached so the same text is not translated twice. Only the text is sent, never your name, email or your children's details. Anthropic processes it under a data processing agreement; where data leaves the European Economic Area, the EU standard contractual clauses apply.

6. Where your data lives, and who helps us

Playground, park and event information comes from public sources: OpenStreetMap and the open data of the Ajuntament de Barcelona. That is information about places, not about you.

7. How long we keep it

For as long as you have an account. You can delete your account inside the app (Profile → Delete account); your profile, your children's data, your safety cards and your photos are deleted at once. Ratings you wrote may remain without your name. Backups are overwritten within 30 days.

8. Your rights

You can see, correct, export (Profile → Export my data) and delete your data at any time, object to or restrict a use of it, and withdraw a consent you gave (for example the safety card). Write to hola@valego.app. You can also complain to the Spanish data protection authority, the AEPD.

9. Legal bases (GDPR)

Providing the service you asked for (art. 6.1.b) for your account, profile, children's basic details and plans; your consent (art. 6.1.a and 9.2.a) for the safety card, location, camera, photos, calendar and notifications; our legitimate interest in keeping the service safe and working (art. 6.1.f) for technical logs.

10. Changes

If this policy changes in a way that matters, the app tells you before the change applies.
